"By Faith ..."

“And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”

(Hebrews 11:6, ESV)

This past Sunday, Henry and Philip truly testified to living by faith. What an encouraging message to hear … story after story of God’s people living by faith. Each one trusted God one step at a time, and in the end experienced God’s true presence and work in their lives.

We live “in faith” in that we have put our trust in God / in Christ as our Saviour. But each day we are called to live “by faith” - to truly believe that God is present and working in the everyday of our lives, to follow the Holy Spirit’s leading in the details of daily life, to step out of our comfort zones so God can work in and through us, to represent Him no matter the situation we are in.

“Lord, lead us today! Lead us in the words we say. Lead us as we listen to those with us. Lead us as we make hay, fight fires, face anxiety, and make decisions. Lord, we trust You today and in today’s situations.”
