Stirring Our Lives Together
“Oil and perfume make the heart glad, and the sweetness of a friend comes from his earnest counsel.”
(Proverbs 27:9, ESV)
When cooking or baking, a variety of very individual ingredients are mixed together to make one wonderful dish. Each ingredient stands for itself, being unique, but the ingredients together form something that hopefully not only tastes good but has nutritional value for us.
The same principle applies to us as a church family. Each of us is one ingredient to making our church family great! We do not remain individual ingredients, we are stirred together … sometimes being blessed with a new person / a new ingredient to add more flavour and value, mixing them also into our church family.
Are we sharing our lives with the rest of our church family, and are we allowing others to share their lives with us? Are we adding new people into our bowl and inviting them to join us? Are we participating in the conversation before and after service on Sunday, joining the back-yard bbq’s, and intermingling with others from the church during the week?
Let us stir our lives all together to make one beautiful church family!
