Unplanned

“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.”

The movie Unplanned tells the story of Abby Johnson. She used to work for a large abortion provider in the United States, until the day she was touched while assisting an actual abortion. She shifted from helping provide abortion to publicly opposing it.

While the movie tells her story, it intentionally questions abortion and the pro-choice view-points. Those on the pro-choice side have opposed the movie, finding it quite offensive.

With the movie playing in the Grand Reo Theatre in Vanderhoof this week (July 19-25), I encourage you to view it and to allow it to spur conversation that deepens our pro-life beliefs but that also opens our hearts to those who face the desperation of feeling abortion is their only choice. Let us not be offensive or aggressive or judgemental but offer a love and care that draws them to our heavenly and loving God.
