Together

And all the people gathered as one man into the square before the Water Gate. And they told Ezra the scribe to bring the Book of the Law of Moses that the Lord had commanded Israel.

(Nehemiah 8:1, ESV)

Right away in creation, God created this concept of togetherness. It was not good that Adam was alone, so God gave him Eve. In the evenings, God would join Adam & Eve in the Garden, walking with them. Life is meant to be lived together.

We also see this principle spread throughout scripture … we are to walk our journey of life and faith together. Here in Nehemiah, they built the wall together and here come together around the Word of God in worship. In Acts 2, we see the early church join and serve together, merging all parts of their lives, making sure everyone had what they needed. Jesus says how significant it is when two or three of us pray with one another. In Hebrews 10, we are called to continually come together as believers; our encouragement is dependent upon it.

Let us keep coming together! We are having to be creative and different during this COVID season, but it is all the more important to be together.

Let us come together in our marriages and families! Build one another up. Bring encouragement and help. Serve one another. Be determined is strengthening your relationships.

Let us come together as NCC! We encourage you to join us Sunday mornings; if joining us in person does not work, please join our service on Facebook (better yet, join with others in your bubble to join in on Facebook). Walking our faith journey together is essential for our spiritual health.

Let us reach out to those who do not have someone to be together with! Let us open our hearts and schedules to someone new, to someone the Holy Spirit is leading us towards.
