Coming in Faith
“And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease.””
(Mark 5:34, ESV)
During this season of Lent, I have been traveling through the book of Mark through the devotional our MB Seminary puts out each year. One passage in particular stands out to me.
In Mark 5, while on the way to heal Jairus’ daughter, while passing through a crowd, Jesus feels healing power go out of Him and stops to personally connect with whoever touched Him. This woman had been sick a long time. She knew she was not worthy to be healed or to even speak with Jesus. And yet, she came up to Him with full faith … merely a touch would bring healing.
In what way do we bring our troubles to Jesus for His touch? Do we believe His touch is enough to heal our souls and our bodies? Is our personal and corporate faith such that we believe the way Jairus and this woman believed? Does our faith truly fill us with the peace of God?
“… your faith has made you well; go in peace …”
