Meeting Again!
It was a real blessing for those of us who again met in person for services this past weekend. While it was different, it was great to be with others! We had a service Saturday evening and another Sunday morning, with Saturday’s service being videoed and posted online for those at home; the same is being planned for this weekend.
We sense three different responses to gathering again. First, some are confident to come together, others are fearful of it, and others are somewhat complacent. It is this complacency that is most concerning to me.
In this past Sunday’s passages, we are called to “arm ourselves” with the same “way of thinking” as Christ. This cross-references with Ephesians 6.13, calling us to “put on the full armour of God”. There is a need for each of us to diligently work at building up our own faith and the faith of those around us (most particularly our families). May we take on this responsibility to actively make every effort towards growing and engaging in our innermost being with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This does not only happen in church, but at this time the temptation to apathy is very present and real.
Let us take action to deepen and practice our faith today!
