Coming to the Table Together
“Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.”
(Ephesians 2:19–20, NIV)
God has made us to live in relationship - first with Him and then with one another. He uses different metaphors to depict this for us - we live as the “body of Christ” and the “family of God”. He calls us to keep meeting together to encourage, love, and teach one another.
In coming together / by living in faith-community, we come to the table. It is through being with and living alongside one another in our families and faith-communities that we more fully know and experience God.
As we prepare to study this further on Sunday, I want to simply point you to it today. With the video below (this song being part of what inspired this series), prayerfully meditate around the picture of coming to the table of the Lord together.
