Finding Joy Within Limitations
“Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people.”
(Titus 3:1–2, ESV)
What a privilege we have to meet together on Sunday mornings for worship and encouragement! While there are limitations due to COVID, we are so grateful we are able to meet, to sing, and to be together.
This past Sunday was quite challenging as we had more people come to each service than we are allowed to host. Our BC government has set in place an attendance limit of 50 people for any large gathering. This is the only rule they have placed on us and have been very helpful in giving guidelines and recommendations for how to meet safely. So many of you have been very supportive and encouraging to our church leaders as we work to submit to the government God has placed over us while also meeting our spiritual and relational needs.
We are so thankful for our church family and wish we could all be together for Sunday service! But, for now, it is not to be. As we approach Fall, there are two things I would like to mention connected to our services.
First, we are working on a way to video feed to downstairs. We plan to create space downstairs for people to join the service via video. This way we can meet the recommendations of keeping our two groups separate and yet can still come in person and be together. Downstairs will function as an “overflow” of sorts. We will let you know when this is available.
We are also encouraging you to sign up for attending service to ensure there is a spot for you. If you come without having signed up, please check in with the ushers at the kiosk to see if there is room for you, being ready to not be able to stay. If you have signed up and plans change, please let us know that so we can open your spots up to others. You can sign up through the church office (until 1:30pm on Friday) and then by Juanita’s cell phone (given in the church emails each week).
Thank-you for being part of us and being patient and understanding as we do our best to follow and trust the Lord through this COVID season!
