A friend is putting up two structures. The last few days have been focused on installing tin roofing. The building frames are quite impressive on their own, but they are fairly useless until the roof goes on. Having a roof keeps the weather out, giving purpose to the building frame. It made me think of the principle of spiritual coverings.

The Bible says we are all sinful apart from God, and so we are dependent upon His mercy; motivated by love, He mercifully draws us to Himself. He serves us even though we are undeserving. He makes the way of salvation available to us even though we keep stumbling in our faith. He continues to love us even when we forget to love in return.
